RunSignUp Announces RaceDay SignUp Kiosk App Beta Release

July 21, 2016 – Moorestown, NJ – As a part of the new RaceDay Go Platform from RunSignUp, the new RaceDay SignUp Kiosk App is now available in Beta. This app provides a native Apple and Android app designed for race day signups. The app can be found on your phone’s App Store by searching for “RunSignUp”.

The new app now supports a secure credit card swiper to speed the signup process.  RunSignUp has worked with a swipe device manufacturer to build a fully encrypted card reader; this means when the card is swiped, the actual device is encrypting the data, and the only place the data can be unencrypted is on RunSignUp’s secure, PCI-compliant cloud platform. The swipe device will soon be available on Amazon, but if you are interested in getting an early device, please email kevin@runsignup.com. RunSignup is interested in initial feedback on the devices.

The devices plug into phones and tablets via the earphone jack and are heavier duty than the Square devices that many people are familiar with. They cost over $50 each to manufacture; RunSignup will be partially subsidizing the cost.

Over time, RunSignUp will continue introducing mechanisms to make kiosks more convenient. Here is an early demonstration of the app:

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
