Revolution3 Blazes into Canada with a New Triathlon in St. Andrews, New Brunswick

October 7, 2017 –Revolution3 Triathlon (REV3) is excited to announce their expansion into Canada for the 2017 series, with the addition of REV3 St. Andrews. The race will take place on July 9, 2017 and will include race options for everyone with a festival feeling that will be sure to make it a weekend to remember. The signature race will be the HalfREV but there will also be a SprintREV, KidsREV, and GlowRun. After a successful 2016 year of #backinblue, REV3 is thrilled to offer this great destination to its customers. Registration will open on October 20th with early bird pricing for one week.

Sometimes referred to as St. Andrews By-the-Sea, the race setting is anchored at the iconic Algonquin Resort. The swim takes place in Katy’s Cove, a protected body of water with average water temps of 22 degrees Celcius or 71.6 degrees Fahrenheit. The HalfREV bike course begins overlooking the scenic Passamaquoddy Bay looking out from St. Andrews and across to the State of Maine. The majority of the bike course is on the entirely closed Highway # 1 that takes athletes all the way to the Town of St. Stephen and almost to the Maine USA border.  The run is mostly along the ocean and is incredibly scenic with views of the Fundy Isles and historic sites of the surrounding area. St. Andrews is nestled in New Brunswick, next door to Maine and very accessible to Boston and the New England states. With a favorable exchange rate, US athletes are sure to find a bargain and an amazing triathlon destination.

“We are thrilled to partner with Race Manager, Tressa Bevington, and her team. They have many years of producing high quality race experiences.  St. Andrews fits very well within the REV3 culture and portfolio of races,” said Eric Opdyke, president of Revolution3 Triathlon. “Our goal is to expand our footprint across North America. In addition to REV3 St. Andrews, we have added REV3 Punta Cana in 2017.”

Families can treat themselves to the laid back and quaint town of St. Andrews by walking to various shops or restaurants or take a whale watching tour among many other adventures this area offers.

Race Manager, Tressa Bevington, says: “We are very excited for the opportunity to work with the Rev3 team and for all of our athletes to enjoy the amazing Rev3 experience in St. Andrews. We are ecstatic for Rev3 to break into Canada and are proud to be a part of their expansion”

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
