Pearl Izumi Launches New Performance Layering and BioViz™ Options for All Conditions with Fall/Winter 2016 Ride Collection

Louisville, Colo. (Oct. 11, 2016) – Pearl Izumi, maker of performance cycling and triathlon footwear and apparel, announces its Fall/Winter 2016 Pursuit and Escape Ride collections, now available at Pearl Izumi retailers and online at the fully redesigned, PearlIzumi.com. The new collection offers layering options for all kinds of riding conditions and supports Pearl Izumi’s challenge to #endureandenjoy365.

The new collection ensures riders have the necessary layers to ride comfortably and safely in any weather condition. It also offers riders the security of BioViz™, which combines true fluorescent colors, reflective materials and biomotion to catch a driver’s eye faster and more effectively.

“It’s not enough to just make a jacket for cold weather. If you start with how the rider will be using it, you may prioritize ventilation for riders training through the winter, or more all around protection for riders who need versatility for adventure riding,” said Andrew Hammond, Global Brand Manager. “We’ve taken a hybrid approach to several styles for this season, combining fabrics in different ways to deliver on specific rider expectations.”

The Fall 2016 collection is made up of new Pursuit apparel options for goal focused riders, and Escape apparel options for the rider more interested in adventure. Pearl Izumi’s new website offers an enhanced shopping experience that intuitively walks users through the Pursuit and Escape experience and directs them to the best apparel options that originate from the foundation of “Why you ride.”

The new site will also make mobile shopping easier and will include updates to the overall website aesthetics. Additionally, more information can now be found about the origin of the brand as well as a more in-depth understanding of the Pearl Izumi speed shop.

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
