New EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler Charity Program Benefits Five Charity Partners

PITTSBURGH – As part of a new P3R charity program, this year’s EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler will benefit five nonprofit organizations that are making a difference in Pittsburgh.

P3R will donate $10 of every race registration to the American Cancer Society, Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, Light of Life Rescue Mission, and Mario Lemieux Foundation. Runners who want to give even more can also individually fundraise for one of these organizations.

“The Animal Rescue League’s partnership with the P3R has grown over the past six years,” said Ann Yeager, director of marketing for Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center. “We think it is important for us to show our runners how much their commitment and dedication means to us.  Supporting other running events like the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler is a great way for us to show our appreciation of charity runners and raise money to help animals in need.”

During the 2016-17 season, charity runners participating in P3R’s events are expected to raise more than $1.5 million – pushing the total raised since 2009 to more than $10 million.

“P3R’s Charity Program inspires runners to run for a greater good while raising funds for a cause close to their hearts,” said P3R CEO Patrice Matamoros. “Each EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler registration this year will positively impact the community and benefit organizations that are committed to making Pittsburgh a great place.”

More than 5,000 runners are expected for Nov. 6 race that takes runners on a scenic tour of Pittsburgh, crossing bridges and finishing in Downtown. For more information about the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler charity program, visit:  http://ift.tt/2ccTRfA.
