MYLAPS maximizes race experience on four continents in one weekend

MYLAPS optimized the race experience on no less than four different continents last weekend. The Missoula Marathon (United States), Sydney Harbour 10K & 5K (Australia), Seagaia Triathlon (Japan), British 10K (United Kingdom), Brooks 10K Champions Run (the Netherlands), Ehunmilak Trail Run (Spain) and 21K Adidas (Mexico) all used EventManager software services to engage their athletes, fans and sponsors.

5-star ratings for EventApps
The Missoula Marathon, Sydney Harbour 10K & 5K and Seagaia Triathlon used a fully customized EventApp with standard features as LiveTracking (follow athletes real time on an interactive map), detailed event information and push notifications.  Their users rated the app with 5 (out of 5) stars (Missoula and Seagaia) or 4 stars (Sydney). The Missoula Marathon app was frequently used. The users opened the app 4.5 times on average and spent more than 15 minutes (!) per session in the app. ‘This app is perfect for my family to track my progress and get updates for where I am,’ writes a participant in a review on Google Play.

The total time all users spent in the 3 EventApps is 191 days, which is more than half a year!

More than 32,000 page views for Brooks 10K Results
The British 10K (London) and Brooks 10K Champions Run (Amsterdam) used MYLAPS EventResults, a mobile friendly results platform with personal pages for all participants. The results pages of the Brooks 10K were viewed more than 32,000 times on Sunday and Monday. By far the most visitors viewed the results on their smartphone, which underlines the importance of responsive web design.

LiveTracking and Social Shares
The Adidas 21K in Mexico City used LiveTracking on web and SocialShares. Even after race day people relive the race on the website. The Ehunmilak Trail Run expanded the reach of their event by using SocialShares on Facebook.

More events coming up
And there’s more to come. Next weekend the Great Newham London Run (part of the Great Run: Running Events) and on July 31st the Media maratón de Bogotá (Colombia) with approximately 45,000 runners use the EventApp.

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
