Local Magician Will Reenact Famous Harry Houdini Stunt After EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler

PITTSBURGH – 100 years ago, Harry Houdini performed his death-defying upside-down straight jacket escape high above the streets of Pittsburgh. 100 years later, following the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler, on Sunday, November 6, nationally touring magician and comedian Lee Terbosic, a Pittsburgh native, will attempt to reenact the infamous escape.

“I am thrilled to partner with the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler for my Houdini 100 event,” Terbosic said. “Sunday, November 6, 2016 is going to be a thrilling day for our thriving city. Thousands of people will be achieving their goals at the 10-miler on this morning, and I personally will be attempting to achieve a long-time dream–completing a death-defying, upside-down straight jacket escape high above the streets of Pittsburgh, 100 years to the day that Harry Houdini successful executed this stunt in the exact same location in Pittsburgh.”

Participants and spectators are encouraged to stay and enjoy post-race festivities and the exciting escape attempt at 12:00 PM at Liberty Avenue and Wood Street near the finish line. The Houdini 100 Performance is a free event open to the public.

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
