BMW Dallas Marathon and Columbia Business School Bring Back Executive Challenge with Two $5,000 Charitable Awards Available to Winners

DALLAS (July 27, 2016) – Organizers for the BMW Dallas Marathon and Columbia Business School announced a renewed partnership in 2016, and will host the second annual Columbia Business School Executive Challenge as part of BMW Dallas Marathon race day. The challenge encourages senior level professionals to lace up their running shoes in friendly competition during the December 11th BMW Dallas Marathon.

New for 2016, the winning male and female executive finishers will both win a $5,000 contribution to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) made in their name. “The Columbia Business School Executive Challenge launched last year as a fun way to spur relationships among top business leaders,” said Julie Rademaker, senior director of marketing at Columbia Business School. “By awarding two executives this year we expect to see the friendly competition among marathon participants turned up a notch, and look forward to working with all Executive Challenge participants on race day.”

Participating business leaders are recognized for their dedication to fitness, community and charity; in 2015 more than 50 top executives – local, regional and national – ran in the Dallas Marathon’s inaugural Columbia Business School Executive Challenge. Companies and businesses are encouraged to pledge to match the BMW Dallas Marathon’s charitable contribution, should their leading executive be the first to cross the finish line on December 11.

The $5,000 donation awarded to the fastest finishing female and male executive will be donated directly to TSRHC, the primary beneficiary of the Dallas Marathon since 1997. “We’re excited to continue a great partnership with Columbia Business School, a highly acclaimed institution, to recognize the parallel energy and commitment required to succeed in professional business and endurance sports,” said Dallas Marathon board chairman Lisa Croley.
