Beachbody Announces “Make Me an IRONMAN” Campaign

Santa Monica, CA, September 28, 2016 – Beachbody Performance today announced a nationwide initiative to help everyday people realize a life-long goal of becoming an IRONMAN®.

As part of its continuing dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles, and with the cooperation of IRONMAN, Beachbody Performance is inviting people from all walks of life to realize their dreams of competing in an IRONMAN triathlon in North America in 2017.

Beachbody Performance is looking to select one or more individuals to sponsor and help prepare and train for this monumental, life-changing event. If selected, sponsorship would include an entry to an IRONMAN-owned race in North America in 2017. Additionally, Beachbody Performance will provide professional coaching for ten months as well as a suite of specialized equipment and Beachbody Performance premium sports nutrition supplements throughout the training period — all with the goal of attaining this remarkable opportunity.

The scope of the campaign is vastly expanded with the generous support of five esteemed co-sponsors.  Quintana Roo will provide triathlon-specific PRthree racing bikes and ROKA will be providing wetsuits to each participant. Zoot Sports will supply custom race kits and training kits. Rudy Project will donate helmets, while Hoka One One will provide running shoes to each winner.

Santa Monica-based Beachbody, a leading global provider of in-home and gym-based fitness programs and nutrition, created the performance-inspired and endurance-focused Beachbody PerformanceTM line, which recently became the Official Sports Nutrition Supplement of the IRONMAN North American series, and in conjunction with IRONMAN is looking to make the race accessible to a wide range of people.

Carola Ross, IRONMAN’s Chief Sales Officer, said, “Beachbody’s campaign for Make Me An IRONMAN is a fantastic one, and really aligns with our belief that Anything is Possible — even the iconic IRONMAN race of 140.6 miles is achievable to a wide range of people, with the right application of dedication and a little bit of help. We’re really looking forward to the results and urge people to apply to realize their IRONMAN dreams.”

Beachbody is looking for inspirational stories from all types of people ranging from couch potato to weekend warriors to veterans or ex-athletes across every imaginable spectra. The submission process is simple: go to Beachbody Performance’s Facebook page and click on the Make Me An IRONMAN button to submit your application and tell us why you want to become an IRONMAN triathlete.  Entrants do not need any prior triathlon or endurance experience. Though, if selected, participants will need to provide a letter to Beachbody from a doctor clearing them for participation in the grueling 140.6-mile race. In the words of IRONMAN founder, John Collins, ”Swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, run 26.2 miles, Brag for the rest of your life.”

Jon Congdon, Beachbody co-founder, President and CMO, said, “IRONMAN presents a global platform for the pursuit of not only fitness, but also life-changing accomplishment. Beachbody, through its fitness and nutrition products, has a long history of helping people reach their goals of transforming their bodies, their fitness levels and ultimately their health. That’s why we’ll now further inspire people to reach their potential and find something truly great within themselves, and we’ll actually help them get there.”

Founded in 1998 by Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon, Beachbody LLC is the creator of the nation’s most popular fitness and nutrition solutions, including P90X®, INSANITY®, 21 Day Fix® and Shakeology®. In May, Beachbody announced its partnership with IRONMAN, signing on Beachbody Performance as the Official Sports Nutrition Supplement of the IRONMAN North American Series. About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
