(Logan, UT— October 7, 2016) — Endurance runner Jeff “Bronco Billy” Browning stars in a short documentary called “The Double” which features his new 2016 world record for the fastest time ever to complete back-to-back Western States Endurance Run and Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run races. “The Double” is the combined finish times of these two legendary 100-mile trail races, which Browning completed in 42:12:43. The opportunity to participate in one of these races is a lifetime achievement for many ultrarunners. However, very few dare to run both in the same year because these difficult events are typically just two weeks apart.
On June 25, 2016, Browning took third place at Western States 100 with a time of 16:30:40. On July 16, just 19 days later, he placed fourth at Hardrock 100 with a time of 25:42:03. By combining those finishes, he set the new double record with his overall time of 42:12:43. The previous record for the double was 43:33:23, which was set by Browning’s fellow Altra Endurance Team member, Nick Clark, back in 2011.
“The Double” was filmed by Matt Trappe Photo and Film. The documentary highlights Browning’s Western States and Hardrock experiences on his journey to set the new record. The film also shows clips of Browning with his wife and kids at home because his family has a big influence on his racing. Teammate and friend Nick Clark also shares his thoughts about his previous double time and Browning’s new record.
