SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Levi’s Stadium and the San Francisco 49ers SAP Performance Facility will host the third annual 49ers Rush presented by Subway, which includes a 4.9K run, a 2-mile Junior Rush run, and a 4.9K endurance Challenge, on Sunday, October 30th. This year’s event will also include a fitness expo the day before on Saturday, October 29th. Participants will have the opportunity to donate to Northern California Special Olympics and Special Olympic athletes will participate in the events as well as volunteer.
The goal of 49ers Rush presented by SUBWAY® is to motivate fans to engage in a fun, yet challenging physical fitness event by providing them with the opportunity to train like members of the 49ers. Registration for the event opens to the general public on Thursday, July 21st and interested participants can find out more information and purchase tickets at www.49ersRush.com.
Participants can choose to compete in the 4.9K stadium run or the 4.9K Challenge, or the true weekend warrior can choose the ultimate test of physical endurance by running both events. The 4.9K stadium run takes place inside Levi’s Stadium and the adjacent SAP Performance Facility, featuring light stair and ramp challenges. The fitness challenge is a more thorough test of endurance, requiring participants to cover a 4.9K course featuring the added challenges of conquering hundreds of stairs and ramps, along with sprints, high steps through bungees, combine drills and padded gauntlets. The finish line for both events will be on Levi’s Stadium field in front of friends, family and the 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders.
Each 49ers Rush participant will receive an event t-shirt and a finisher’s medallion presented by SUBWAY restaurants. Challenge participants will also receive an additional prize, one be-fitting of the toughest team members. Performance awards will be presented to the first, second and third male and female overall finishers in each event.
The minimum age requirement to enter the 2-mile Jr. Rush race is six-years-old, while prospective participants for the 4.9K run and Challenge must be 14 years or older. Any questions or inquiries can be directed to info@49ersrush.com. Event information will also be available at participating SUBWAY restaurant locations within a 75-mile radius from Levi’s Stadium.
