THE WOODLANDS, TX (August 22, 2016) – The Woodlands Marathon Management has raised and donated over $550,000 to local, regional and national non-profits. Started in 2013, The Woodlands Marathon Management is happy to announce they are partnering with Reason2Race to facilitate the online giving campaigns for the runners.
The Woodlands Marathon has selected the Safe Harbor Initiative as its 2017 event highlight charity. Each distance title sponsor will have the opportunity to select additional highlight charities. Each of these non-profits will be promoted throughout the lead up to the event.
On October 17, 2016 The Woodlands Marathon Management invites runners and charities to participate in our 2017 Charity Challenge Kickoff event at Goose’s Acre on The Woodlands Waterway. Attendees will have a chance to win entries into the event and those participating in the Charity Challenge (i.e. raising money for a charity) will have a chance to win a Race Entry For A Lifetime.
The Woodlands Marathon Management will award a $15,000 donation prize purse to the top fundraisers during the 2017 event with the top fundraiser’s charity receiving an additional $4,000. Twenty fundraisers will have the opportunity to receive additional amounts for their charities of choice.
The program is designed for runners to challenge themselves and raise the most funds for their charity of choice. Sharing their fundraising goals with family, friends and colleagues help them accomplish not only something for themselves but also for the charity they select. It is a great way to bring a spotlight to the charity for which they are running and shows their commitment to success. We encourage runners to take the challenge and watch how making a difference for others makes a difference for you!
How The Woodlands Marathon Charity Challenge works; there is no cost to take the challenge, there is no minimum fundraising requirement to participate and we encourage you to set a high goal, at least $1,000. Register for the event and set up a fundraising page for the charity that means something special to you.
