Seventh Annual Bike The Coast Passes 1,000 Riders Registered for November Cycling Event.

August 1, 2016 – The popular Bike The Coast – Taste The Coast (http://ift.tt/2awEZad), a unique cycling event, food festival and sports expo in Oceanside, has already surpassed 1,000 participants for its seventh annual event set for Saturday, November 5, 2016. The event has a maximum of 2,400 riders.

“We are back on our traditional date in the beginning of November and this is the earliest we’ve reached the 1,000-rider mark,” said event organizer Jim Curl of Event Media, Inc.   “This ride draws a wonderful field that enjoys a ride up and down the peerless coast of North County San Diego.”

As in previous years, this event will feature a choice of five bike rides (7, 15, 25, 50 & 100 miles), along with the MainStreet Oceanside Street Food Festival,  and  Charity Beer Garden, a live jazz concert, and a Sports Expo at the Oceanside Pier. Working with Visit Oceanside, the event has already begun to draw reservations for that weekend.

In addition, the current Miss Oceanside and Miss Teen Oceanside will once again be present at the start and finish of Bike The Coast in the Strand under the Pier to greet riders.

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
