Chattanooga, TN (August 11, 2016) – American Bicycle Group (ABG), manufacturer of Quintana Roo (QR), today unveiled the PRthree, the latest in QR’s PR series of award-winning, high-performance triathlon bikes. Unveiled at this weekend’s USA Triathlon Age Group Nationals, the PRthree is QR’s new elite level bike, sharing some technology advanced by its series cousins, the PRsix and the PRfive – lightweight, aero-efficient, stable, and mechanically easy to work on and travel with.
“We are always looking for ways to help the age group triathlete,” said ABG president and CEO, Peter Hurley. “With the PRthree, we have accomplished this. It shares some of the performance characteristics of our award-winning PRsix and PRfive. It’s flexible to their performance needs, highly competitive and has an aggressive price point.”
Features of the PRthree:
- “Shift” technology, QR’s well regarded asymmetric design
- Trickle-down aero and light-weight technology from the award-winning PRsix and PRfive
- Boat-tail technology that increases aero efficiency and provides greater stability
- Static Downtube Orientation for maximum aerodynamic advantage across all sizes (size specific design)
- QBox – size specific storage system that makes the bike more aerodynamic, equipped with safety beacon that can be turned on or off without leaving the saddle – comes standard on all models
- Multi system brake mount allows compatibility with most brakes
- Easy assembly – two hex wrenches are all that’s needed to take the bike apart for easy travel
- A very adjustable Profile Design aero cockpit system providing a wide range of fit capabilities
The PRthree has a price point of $2,500 and a race performance (carbon aero race wheels) price point of $3,600. These price points are achieved by incorporating different levels of carbon fiber, 24T hybrid composite, using a traditional chainstay design, and by using ultra-reliable Shimano 105 11-speed components.
American Bicycle Group/Quintana Roo is now taking preorders at QR dealers with delivery in early September.
