Melissa Arnot and Maddie Miller Detour to Outdoor Retailer Show in the Home Stretch of 50 Peaks Challenge to present at the Zamst Booth

Irvine, CA – August 1, 2016 – With ten days left and six peaks to go, Melissa Arnot and Maddie Miller are racing the clock to become the first female team to summit all 50 high points in the United States within 50 days. Melissa Arnot, 6x Everest summiter and first American woman to ascend Everest without supplemental oxygen, alongside college senior and guide in training, Maddie Miller, will make an appearance at the Zamst Booth at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday, August 3rd. The two will share their experience with show attendees and present videos of their progress to date. Arnot and Miller have been on the road for 32 days summiting 45 high points in the continental United States on their quest to complete the challenge.

The 50 Peaks Challenge officially began on June 27th, when Miller reached the summit of Denali in Alaska. Since then, the two have traveled over 14,000 miles across the continental United States, overcoming natural and logistical difficulties including a mechanical issue with the van to a last minute re-route due to forest fires in Wyoming. Experiencing some knee pain, Miller is relying on the Zamst EK-3 knee support to help her complete the challenge.

“The team at Zamst is proud to rally behind Melissa and Maddie and to do what we can to make their challenging adventure of physical and mental stamina possible,” says Bryan Smeltzer, General Manager for Zamst US. “We have been following the two on their epic journey across the United States, cheering them on peak by peak, and are thrilled to see them so close to the finish.”

With six peaks left to climb, Miller and Arnot aim to complete the adventure with a final flight to Hawaii. Alongside other sponsors that include Eddie Bauer, Microsoft Band, tasc Performance, Avex, Leki and Pop Chips, Zamst invites attendees and media to visit with Melissa and Maddie at the Zamst booth, #40184, from 10am to 12pm on Wednesday, August 3rd. The 2016 Summer Outdoor Retailer Show will be held at the Salt Lake Palace Convention Center from August 2nd – August 6th. About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
