Madison Social to Host Guest Bartending and Brunch Event Benefitting Girls on the Run Big Bend Runathon

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—One of Tallahassee’s favorite watering holes is continuing to show support for local organizations by partnering with Girls on the Run of the Big Bend (GOTRBB) as they prepare for their Rock On Runathon fundraiser. Madison Social will be hosting a guest bartending event on Aug. 10 from 6-9 p.m., and a brunch event on Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Proceeds from both socials will go to support Rock On Runathon teams and the fundraiser overall.

During the guest bartending event, members of Rock On Runathon teams and other GOTRBB volunteers will be pouring your drinks and all tips will go towards the overall fundraising goal for this year’s runathon. No tickets are necessary to attend.

Brunch will be an all-you-can-eat experience, with one mimosa included for those of legal drinking age. There will be two seatings, with one beginning at 10am and another beginning at 11am. Each seating can accommodate up to 44 guests. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at http://ift.tt/2bhKJqy . Part of the proceeds from ticket sales can be attributed towards a certain Rock On Runathon team’s fundraising goal. Simply enter their team name at check out. Those who do not designate a team will see proceeds from their ticket benefit the overall fundraising goal for the runathon.

The Rock On Runathon will take place on Sept. 24, 2016 and will support scholarships and program expansion. Teams of participants commit to run for 5 continuous hours at Premier Health and Fitness Center, and will feature activities, special guests and entertainment throughout the day. The second annual runathon is the largest fundraiser for Girls on the Run of the Big Bend. Last year’s event raised $8,000 that has helped the council continue to grow. This year, the organization hopes to raise $15,000. Girls on the Run of the Big Bend has served 498 girls since 2014.

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
