Entries for seventh annual Bike The Coast on record pace

OCEANSIDE, CA (Oct. 4, 2016) – The popular Bike The Coast – Taste The Coast (http://ift.tt/2awEZad), a unique cycling event, food festival and sports expo in Oceanside, is poised to set a record for entries for this year’s ride on Saturday, November 5. Already more than 2,000 participants have registered and officials are encouraging riders to register now to guarantee one of the 2,400 entry slots for the seventh annual event.

“We’ve had an incredible response so far,” said event organizer Jim Curl of Event Media, Inc. “We are proud to be part of the community that supports this ride and has helped it grow year over year. We’re expecting a record number of cyclists this year.”

As in previous years, this event will feature a choice of five bike rides (7, 15, 25, 50 & 100 miles), along with the Mainstreet Oceanside Street Food Festival, the NOLAH Charity Beer Garden, and a Sports Expo at the Oceanside Pier. Working with Visit Oceanside, the event will bring many guests to Oceanside and provide special reservation offers for Bike the Coast riders.

In addition, the current Miss Oceanside and Miss Teen Oceanside will once again be present at the start and finish of Bike The Coast to greet riders in the Strand under the Pier.

About

Growing up in Colorado you can't help but love the outdoors. Something magical happens with 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains in your back yard. My athletic endeavors started on the bike, I would get out and ride whenever I could. In 2011 I moved to Oxford, England for work. I missed the sunshine and mountains, but discovered my passion for running. When I moved back to Colorado I started combining cycling and running, so it was only natural that I started competing in triathlons. I took second place at my first sprint, and caught the bug. Today I'm training for my fourth Ironman.
