SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2016) – ElliptiGO Inc., creators of the world’s first outdoor elliptical bicycle, announced today record revenues in August, fueled by 51.6% year-over-year growth in the United States. This strong performance follows the record-setting Q2, which saw revenues increase 52.5% over Q2 2015. The company attributes this success to the growing interest in the category of elliptical bikes overall and to demand for its newest product, the ElliptiGO Arc, which debuted in December.
“We were thrilled to see continued strong growth in August, especially when many other categories of the cycling industry are experiencing declines,” said Bryan Pate, ElliptiGO CEO and co-founder. “In just a few months of availability, the Arc has become our leading seller. We believe it has helped raise awareness of the category of elliptical cycling. We continue to see strong demand for all of our products, and we are excited for the future as more people understand how they can revolutionize their fitness through elliptical cycling.”
According to the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association, sales of mountain bikes, “lifestyle” bikes and road bikes were all down over the first six months of this year. Elliptical cycling is one of the few growing segments of the industry.
