CLAREMONT, Calif. – (August 24, 2016) –Spectrum Sports Management, the leading Southern California sports management event production agency, is extending its partnership with the Catalina Island Conservancy by two years, taking the relationship into 2018. The agreement, which builds on a productive and fruitful five-year relationship, aims to continue to grow the running community throughout the island while maintaining its natural habitat.
Spectrum Sports Management operates five major annual running events on Catalina Island that help raise money toward the efforts of the Conservancy. In return, the two partners work together to build the island’s growing active lifestyle and running community.
“Our events on Catalina Island are successful in part to the spectacular views, lush hillsides and natural habitats, so we feel a responsibility to maintain that and have been able to do so thanks to our partnership with the Catalina Island Conservancy,” said Mike Bone, Race Director at Spectrum Sports Management. “The relationship between Spectrum Sports and Catalina Island Conservancy stands as an example of the Spectrum Sports’ mindset to give back to the communities that host our events.”
Catalina Island is a popular attraction for endurance athletes with 50 miles of rugged coastline and more than 42,000 acres of sweeping valleys, rocky hillsides and oak-covered plateaus. The Catalina Island Conservancy protects 88 percent of the island, including over 62 miles of unspoiled beaches and coves.
