Portland, OR – BibRave, the turn-key promotional tool for races and endurance brands, recently completed a race promotion campaign that produced hundreds of additional registrations for the 2016 Buffalo Marathon. The partnership involved months of blog and social promotion by BibRave’s network of running bloggers, and even included a series of Q&A interviews with Boston Marathon champion, Meb Keflezighi.
BibRave brings a large network of running ambassadors (called BibRave Pros) and their collective audiences to bear for races, helping drive awareness and more race registrations. Each BibRave Pro is an active running blogger and social media personality who helps races share important details that runners value when deciding what races to run.
“I was skeptical at first, but BibRave really did deliver a lot more runners to my race,” said Greg Weber, Race Director of the Buffalo Marathon. “The BibRave Pros helped us reach a diverse set of audiences and they definitely helped us stand out from the competition. Even after increasing our capacity by 21%, we still sold out the Marathon and Half Marathon.”
Along with blog and social media promotion provided for all BibRave race partners, the BibRave Pros added additional exposure through a series of Buffalo Marathon-focussed Q&A interviews with Meb Keflezighi, which were organized by ProRunnerTalk and BibRave in conjunction with the Buffalo Marathon. BibRave also arranged an interview for the race director on the Runner of a Certain Age podcast, which tapped into different runner outlets and enabled the Buffalo Marathon to discuss in-depth what makes it a must-do race.
“Greg and his team really do their city proud with the Buffalo Marathon,” said Tim Murphy, Co-Founder of BibRave. “That’s a big part of why our program was so successful – the BibRave Pros were so excited by what Buffalo has to offer, the race has a great story to tell and is well-executed, and all that excitement translated into effective blog and social promotion for the race.”
